Arnold I. Richman is Chairman of The Shelter Group. Prior to joining Shelter in 1995, Mr. Richman spent 25 years as a partner of Meridian Healthcare, a privately held company that developed and managed nursing homes and related ancillary businesses. At Meridian, Mr. Richman was directly responsible for the management and operations of health care facilities, serving as Vice President of Operations, Executive Vice President and Chairman of the company. During the 1980’s, a period of significant growth for Meridian, Mr. Richman was directly responsible for development and acquisition activities.
Mr. Richman is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA degree in Psychology. Mr. Richman has been involved in a variety of civic activities. He has served as President of the Board of Trustees of The Park School as well as Vice Chairman of the Board and Campaign Chair of The Associated-Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore. He also served for many years on the Board of The Baltimore Community Foundation.
Mr. Richman’s current civic involvement includes serving on the boards of Johns Hopkins Medicine, The Institute for Christian and Jewish Studies, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School and The Baltimore Equitable Society.
